Trip To Mexico

Our first trip to Mexico was a meaningful opportunity to serve children and families through faith-centered teaching. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a community that was open and excited to connect with our team.

During the trip, we held sessions for children of different age groups, including one group for ages 5–8 and another for ages 8–12. Each session was created to meet children where they were and help them better understand their emotions in a way that felt simple and age appropriate. We introduced breathing techniques paired with prayer which gave the children a practical way to pause, reflect, and calm their minds when facing difficult feelings.

We also included art-based activities that allowed the children to express themselves creatively. Through drawing, coloring, and hands-on participation, they were able to communicate feelings they may not have had the words for while enjoying a relaxed and supportive environment.

Another important part of the trip was a session led by a dental assistant, where children learned about taking care of their teeth and building healthy daily habits. This added a practical lesson that reminded us how important it is to care for both physical and emotional well-being.

Alongside the children’s sessions, we also hosted a Parent Talk focused on the connection between psychology and theology. We encouraged parents with practical ways to support their children emotionally while continuing to build a strong family foundation through faith.

We are so grateful to the local community for welcoming us, participating with open hearts, and allowing us to share these moments with their families. We are also thankful for every volunteer and team member who helped make this trip possible.

This trip reminded us of the importance of meeting families where they are and offering simple, meaningful tools they can carry into their everyday lives. Through experiences like this, we hope to continue creating spaces where children and parents feel seen, supported, and encouraged through both faith and emotional awareness.
