Shine Bright International NFP is an Illinois nonprofit corporation organized for charitable, educational, and religious purposes.

Our mission is to strengthen individuals, children, parents, families, churches, and communities by providing faith-based educational programs, Christian mentorship, biblical teaching, and community outreach designed to encourage personal, emotional, relational, and spiritual growth.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Shine Bright International does not provide licensed medical care, psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, counseling, behavioral health services, legal services, financial advice, or other regulated professional services through this Website.

Our educational philosophy recognizes the value of faith, healthy relationships, lifelong learning, and personal responsibility. Depending on the nature of a particular program, our educational resources may incorporate Scripture, prayer, Christian teaching, discussions regarding emotional wellness, leadership development, family relationships, communication skills, personal growth, or other topics consistent with our mission.

Participation in our programs is entirely voluntary. Individuals are encouraged to determine whether our mission, beliefs, and educational approach are appropriate for their own personal circumstances before participating.

14. EDUCATIONAL NATURE OF OUR SERVICES

Unless expressly stated otherwise, all Services provided by Shine Bright International—including workshops, mentorship, educational courses, conferences, community events, certifications, written materials, videos, social media content, downloadable resources, newsletters, and other educational materials—are intended solely for educational, informational, and faith-based purposes.

Descriptions appearing on the Website are intended to explain our programs and should not be interpreted as creating contractual guarantees regarding specific program content, instructors, schedules, duration, availability, or outcomes.

We reserve the right to modify, expand, postpone, combine, discontinue, or replace programs, speakers, educational materials, or schedules when reasonably necessary to fulfill our organizational mission or operational needs.

15. NO PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP

Participation in Shine Bright International programs, use of the Website, receipt of educational materials, communication with staff, volunteers, mentors, facilitators, instructors, speakers, or representatives, or completion of certifications does not establish:

  • a physician-patient relationship;

  • psychologist-patient relationship;

  • therapist-client relationship;

  • counselor-client relationship;

  • attorney-client relationship;

  • fiduciary relationship; or

  • any other licensed professional relationship.

Participants remain responsible for making their own healthcare, legal, financial, educational, and personal decisions in consultation with appropriately qualified professionals when necessary.

16. PROGRAM REGISTRATION

Certain programs, educational opportunities, volunteer activities, mentorship programs, conferences, or events may require registration before participation.

By registering, you agree that:

  • information submitted during registration is complete and accurate;

  • you will promptly update information if it becomes materially inaccurate;

  • you satisfy any published eligibility requirements;

  • you will comply with applicable participation requirements;

  • you will follow reasonable instructions provided by Shine Bright International staff and volunteers.

Submission of a registration request does not guarantee acceptance into a program unless confirmation has been provided by Shine Bright International.

17. EVENTS AND PARTICIPATION

Participation in Shine Bright International events is voluntary.

Certain activities may require separate participation agreements, parental consent forms, photo releases, volunteer agreements, medical acknowledgments, or event-specific waivers before participation.

Participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully toward fellow participants, volunteers, staff members, churches, partner organizations, guest speakers, and community members.

To promote a safe, respectful, and mission-focused environment, Shine Bright International reserves the right to deny, suspend, or discontinue participation in any event or program when reasonably necessary to protect participants, volunteers, staff, organizational property, or the integrity of the program.

18. VOLUNTEERS AND MENTORS

Shine Bright International values the service of its volunteers, mentors, facilitators, instructors, and ministry partners.

Unless expressly identified otherwise, these individuals provide educational, spiritual, mentoring, administrative, or volunteer support within the scope of Shine Bright International's programs.

Volunteers and mentors should not be understood to be providing licensed healthcare, psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric treatment, legal advice, or other regulated professional services on behalf of Shine Bright International unless expressly stated.

Shine Bright International may establish additional volunteer policies, training requirements, codes of conduct, or agreements applicable to volunteer participation.

19. CERTIFICATIONS

Certain educational programs may include certificates recognizing successful completion of internal Shine Bright International educational or ministry training.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, such certificates:

  • acknowledge participation or successful completion of a Shine Bright International program;

  • do not constitute academic credit;

  • do not establish state or federal licensure;

  • do not authorize an individual to practice a regulated profession;

  • do not create employment, credentialing, or professional certification rights; and

  • should not be interpreted as government-recognized professional qualifications.

Participants remain solely responsible for complying with all applicable licensing, certification, educational, employment, or legal requirements within their own jurisdiction.

20. DONATIONS

Shine Bright International gratefully accepts charitable contributions that support its educational, charitable, and religious mission.

Donations made through the Website may be processed using secure third-party payment providers.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, donations are generally considered voluntary charitable contributions and are not automatically refundable.

If you believe a donation was submitted in error or experience a payment issue, please contact Shine Bright International promptly so we may review the circumstances.

We reserve the right to decline, refuse, or return donations where appropriate and consistent with applicable law.

21. USER COMMUNICATIONS

  • severe weather;

  • fire;

  • flood;

  • pandemic;

  • epidemic;

  • war;

  • terrorism;

  • civil unrest;

  • labor disputes;

  • governmental action;

  • utility failures;

  • internet outages;

  • cyber incidents; or

  • failures of third-party service providers.

34. WAIVER

Failure by Shine Bright International to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other provision.

Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Shine Bright International.

35. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, and any additional written policies or agreements that expressly apply to specific programs or services, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shine Bright International regarding your use of the Website.
