ShineBright Gala: Bringing Awareness to Leaders
The ShineBright Gala was created as an opportunity to bring together pastors, church leaders, and members of the community for meaningful conversations about mental health and faith. As we continue raising awareness in these areas, the event focused on encouraging churches to create spaces where people feel supported and understood.
Throughout the evening, attendees learned more about our mission and the work we are doing to make conversations about mental health more accessible within faith communities. We shared a presentation that explored the relationship between psychology and faith, while addressing common misconceptions about both subjects. A major focus of the presentation was helping attendees understand that seeking knowledge through psychology does not require abandoning faith. Instead, we emphasized how both can work together to support healing and personal growth.
The event also featured a guest speaker who discussed the growing need for mental health support within the church. The message encouraged leaders to recognize that many people carry emotional burdens in silence and may not know where to turn for help. Attendees were challenged to consider how their churches can become places where individuals feel safe discussing their struggles and seeking support.
Throughout the evening, dance and musical performances were incorporated into the program. These moments reflected our belief that creative expression can be a meaningful part of the healing process and an important way for people to connect with one another. Guests were also introduced to our ShineBright boxes, which provide practical resources designed to help continue conversations about mental health and faith beyond the event itself.
As the evening continued, attendees shared a meal and spent time connecting with one another. These conversations provided an opportunity for leaders to exchange ideas, reflect on what they had learned, and discuss ways they can better support the people within their own communities.
As we look back on the gala, we are encouraged by the willingness of church leaders to engage in these conversations and explore new ways to support those they serve. We remain committed to helping bridge the gap between mental health and faith while equipping communities with the tools needed to continue these discussions.
The ShineBright Gala was more than an event. It was an opportunity to bring awareness to an important topic and encourage leaders to take an active role in supporting the well-being of the people within their churches.
