ShineBright Picnic: A Day For Those That Give

In the summer of 2024, we hosted a family picnic as an opportunity to bring together the people who have supported ShineBright throughout the years. From volunteers who have served at events to families who have participated in our programs, this gathering gave us a chance to spend time together and recognize the individuals who continue to make our work possible.

Throughout the day, families enjoyed food, games, and activities in a relaxed setting surrounded by nature. Children spent time playing together while others participated in coloring activities. The picnic provided a welcoming environment where families could connect outside of a workshop or conference setting and simply enjoy time together and make new friends in the process.

Although the event was centered on appreciation, it also reflected the purpose behind our work. As people gathered throughout the day, conversations continued around mental health, faith, and the impact these discussions have had on families who have participated in ShineBright events over the years.

For many of us, the picnic also served as a time to reflect on how far the organization has come. ShineBright has always been built through the support of people willing to serve others and invest in their communities. Events like this remind us that meaningful change is often made possible through consistent acts of service and genuine relationships.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was seeing families spending time together and connecting with others who share a desire to support emotional well-being through faith. These moments may seem simple, but they play an important role in strengthening the sense of community that continues to grow through ShineBright.

As we look back on this event, we are reminded that every workshop, conference, and outreach opportunity is made possible by people who generously give their time and support. We are grateful for every volunteer, family member, and supporter who has been part of this journey.

For us, the family picnic was more than a celebration. It was an opportunity to express our appreciation, strengthen relationships, and recognize the people who continue to help carry our mission forward.
